Comfortable Vacation Rental House in the Berkshires

An 1840 farmhouse in the Berkshires, set on the edge of the village of West Stockbridge, is available as a vacation rental for family gatherings, or family reunions and for friends to holiday together and enjoy the many activities and attractions available in the Berkshire area.

Combine the privacy of a 26-acre backyard and its array of wildlife with the convenience of walking to the village of West Stockbridge, 4.3 miles from Tanglewood, 4 miles from Stockbridge, and 10 miles from Great Barrington. The house has 2 living rooms, dining room, sun room, 5 bedrooms, 3 ½ baths, new eat-in kitchen, laundry room, games room, large deck that stretches the front length of the house, patio in rear, large back garden with teak garden swing and path leading into woods.

The house sleeps 10 to 12 people and is fully equipped. There's a sewing kit in the laundry room as well as an ironing board and iron; there's a first aid kit in the powder room and just about every kitchen electronic imaginable. There are several make-up mirrors and hair dryers as well.

All linen, towels, blankets, china, flatware, cooking utensils, etc. are included, although we would ask that guests bring their own beach towels if they wish to visit the local lake that is within walking distance.
Activities & Local Attractions

Activities in the area include golf; cycling; fishing; hiking; canoe tours; horseback riding; mountain biking; swimming, and white water rafting.

History

Click on the pictures to see an enlarged view. The farm house was originally called Blake Farm  and built about 1840.  The Blake family was well known in the village since one of the daughters was the local school mistress. This picture dates from the late 1800's. The house has undergone many transformations since then.

This picture was taken in the early 1900's.  The carriage house (on the right hand side of the picture above) has been converted into what is currently the kitchen. A porch has been added and one can see what looks to be a dove cote to the right of the porch; this no longer exists, there is however a bay window in the living room where the dove cote stood.
